WHAT IS EDG AFRICA?
The Entrepreneur Development Group (EDG) Africa was created to support startups in Africa. A developer may be able to write amazing code worth millions but lose their product because they have no knowledge of Intellectual Property Rights. An attorney may be exceptional in her field, but without a digital presence, she cannot scale as rapidly as she needs. EDG Africa seeks to fill informational gaps and provide access to the tools entrepreneurs need to build, launch, and scale a sustainable business.
Our passion to empower entrepreneurs in Africa has pushed us into the hub markets of Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, and Rwanda. Exponential growth in the tech sector in cities like Lagos, Mombasa, Kenya, Nairobi, Accra, Cape Town, and Johannesburg point to the need for these communities to acquire the business skills needed to grow.

The missing piece to flawless execution may be operating in a silo as thousands of kilos of products perish or disappear daily. Farms struggle to deliver while cars, trucks, and okadas are sitting idle under the hot African sun. Startups are bleeding money via inefficiency while innovative local solutions leveraging AI, block chain, and cloud technology struggle to gain traction. African entrepreneurs face a monumental task, but with the support of a community, we don't have to face it alone.
Here at Ingressive, we are passionate about ecosystem building. To this end, we launched our Ecosystem Hangouts initiative. This initiative convenes key stakeholders within the tech ecosystem to explore obstacles to growth and develop pragmatic solutions to address these issues. The launch event was a convening of key players from four main ecosystem stakeholder groups: Founders, Developers, Corporate Partners, and Investors.
On the last Saturday of each month, with the support of our partners, Rising Tide Africa, and our corporate partners; we host an Ecosystem Hangout that focuses on a specific group within the ecosystem, providing training, swag giveaways, new partnerships, networking opportunities, and access in the African tech ecosystem.
